Founded in 2006, YES Hostel offers affordable, safe, and comfortable accommodations for backpackers, tourists, and groups traveling through Uganda. Nestled in a tranquil location, our hostel provides a welcoming atmosphere and serves as the perfect starting point for your exploration of the area.
What sets us apart is our commitment to making a difference. All proceeds from YES Hostel directly support the Manna Rescue Home, a sanctuary for 30 children living with HIV. Your stay helps fund essential initiatives, including medical care, education, and daily needs. Our dedicated staff work tirelessly to ensure these children receive the love, care, and attention they deserve.

Our dorm rooms offer comfortable bunk bed accommodations for 4-6 guests, ideal for solo travelers and groups alike. For couples seeking privacy, we have two private rooms available. Each room is equipped with fresh linens and mosquito nets to ensure a restful night’s sleep.

Our bathrooms feature western-style flush toilets and hot showers for your comfort. Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided (when power is available) to keep you connected.

Guests can relax and socialize in our common area, which includes a Ping-Pong table, puzzles, books, and board games. For those needing space for meetings or training events, a conference room is also available.

The entire facility is gated, and a guard is on duty 24/7 to ensure your security. Additionally, food is available on-site upon request, making your stay as convenient and enjoyable as possible.

Our hostel boasts 56 beds and welcomes large groups such as school groups, parties, and church groups from around the world. Our spacious accommodations allow us to host many people, making it an incredible opportunity for group stays.

Bring your own tent and enjoy a fantastic camping experience with us. Our site offers stunning views and is just a 20-minute walk to town. It’s a safe and welcoming place with access to clean toilets, hot showers, and an indoor area for playing games. We also provide free Wi-Fi so you can stay connected while you relax in nature. Come and immerse yourself in the beauty of the outdoors while staying conveniently close to town amenities, 15,000 UGX per person!
Our Manager at the YES Hostel
Kisembo Florence has been with YES Hostel since it opened. She knows the place inside out, and her family is an integral part of YES Uganda. Friendly and kind, Florence is always happy to answer any questions. She is also an excellent cook, eager to try new recipes with a little notice. Florence manages YES Hostel and leads a dedicated team that ensures everything runs smoothly.
In addition to her role at the hostel, Florence operates a small catering business. Her team is exceptional, and they can be hired to cater events, no matter the size. Florence is highly skilled at catering for large groups. While she manages the hostel, the food service is her own enterprise. YES Hostel allows her to use the on-site kitchen for her business, which is why food and breakfast are not included in the room price—they are part of a separate business. Our Location
YES Hostel is located on Kakiza Road in the Boma neighborhood of Fort Portal, Uganda (YES Hostel, M79J+P4W, Kakiza Road, Fort Portal). This convenient location makes it easy for guests to explore the local area and access essential amenities.
The hostel is situated 1.8 kilometers (1.1 miles) from The Gardens Restaurant and the Mpanga Market, both on the north side of Fort Portal town. This makes dining and shopping options readily accessible.
For travelers arriving by bus, the central bus park is approximately 2.4 kilometers (1.5 miles) from the hostel. The journey from the bus park or the town center to the hostel is quick and affordable, with a motorcycle taxi (boda-boda) costing approximately 3,000 – 4,000 UGX for a one-way ride.
