Daphne's mother has five other children, aged between 3 and 15 years. Struggling to make ends meet, she takes on odd jobs wherever she can find them. To make matters worse, Daphne’s uncles are trying to evict her mother from their land, claiming that her late husband was merely a squatter on the family property. This constant threat has added to the already overwhelming burden on Daphne’s mother, who is doing her best to provide for her children under incredibly challenging circumstances.
 
Despite these hardships, Daphne's situation took a positive turn when she was accepted into the YES Uganda scholarship program. Now, Daphne is thriving in school and demonstrating remarkable resilience and determination. She is excelling academically and showing a bright promise for the future. We are immensely proud of her progress and excited to see the amazing things she will achieve in life.
