Amy lives with her father and stepmother in a large family. Her father is HIV positive and frequently in and out of the hospital, which adds to the family’s challenges. They live on a small plot where their living conditions are strained due to poor food security and no birth control.
 
Amy's stepmother runs a small tea room to support the family, but the income is often insufficient to meet their needs. Despite these difficulties, Amy remains determined to make the most of her situation. Thanks to YES Uganda, she is now receiving an education and is happy to be in school.
 
The support from the program is essential in helping her access the resources she needs to improve her family's circumstances. With this assistance, Amy is hopeful about her future and aspires to create a better life for herself and her family.
